More than ever before, the COVID-19 crisis and need to spend longer periods of time in our places residence, have highlighted improve indoor air quality (IAQ) ventilation reduce risks airborne virus transmission. Added progressively energy performance buildings achieve carbon neutrality is this completely contrary new requirement, which forces reconsidering issue, its standards, technological solutions IAQ limit contagion inside homes, without losing sight goals that climate change imposes on us. Chile seeking strategies generate sustainable, energy-efficient, comfortable housing, must be reconsidered light Covid-19. Greater permanence home revealed precariousness lifestyles most vulnerable families face; sometimes exposing them environments are risky for their health. The objective research was estimate impact Covid-19 CO2 concentrations, as a result intensity use (occupation) home, considering envelopes with different levels airtightness. Using an experimental methodology, based simulations DesignBuilder software, concentrations four types social located commune Coronel, Biobío, Chile, were quantified. results showed confinement increased by 16.4%, while from original condition envelope more airtight generated increase 83% normal 97% confinement.
